這是一本讓我對夏山概念動搖,聽說不用考試,只要你喜歡,寫出你夏山的原因就行了,超級自由的學校,他的創辦人創辦人尼爾（A.S.Neill）在創辦這所學校時，只有一個基本的目的：「使學校適應兒童，而非使兒童適應學校」。他的看法是：孩子生來是聰明和現實的，假如成年人不給他約束，他會盡他的可能去發展。從理論上來說，在夏山凡有做學者的天份和志向的，就會成為學者；相同地，只適合做清道夫的就會發展成清道夫，因尼爾情願學校教出個快樂的清道夫，也不願培養出一個神經不正常的學者來。他個人對成功的認定是：能快樂的工作和積極地生活。
